Stress is becoming more of a factor of modern life, new technological advances and communication devices mean people are always available, relaxation is more difficult and stress builds and builds.

More corporate entities are realising the detrimental effect stress can have on a workplace and some companies are even beginning to test for stress or undertake stress screening within the workplace. The effective treatment of stress occurs by analysing the underlying symptoms responsible for the stress. While this could be technology related, there are a great many more factors which cause stress such as work pressures including performance and productivity, communication (interpersonal skills),decision-making (procrastination and uncertainty), motivation as well as other issues such as trauma, bereavement, redundancy, health issues and relationship problems.

Of course a lot of stress is built up over a great many factors and whilst eliminating stress may seem an impossible goal, there are very effective methods and stress exercises which can be practiced (and taught to employees by way of stress management training) to enable people to better deal with stress and problems which inevitably occur from time to time.
